Chuck Jones (1912-2002) began his 60-year career at Warner Brothers Studios in 1934, helping to bring to life many of Warner Brother’s most famous characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Porky Pig. Daffy was the first of the new breed of "screwball" characters that emerged in the 1930s and supplanted traditional "everyman" characters, such as Mickey Mouse. Jones’ version of Daffy, scrawnier and scruffier, is one of the most recognized and well-received versions of the Duck.
